BURNS FIRE CODE SOLUTIONS
Burns Fire Code Solutions helps building owners, property managers, and facility managers comply with the requirements of the Saskatchewan Fire Code. In addition, I help bridge the gap between design teams and building owners and to assist design teams in navigating the complexities of the fire protection and life safety aspects of the Codes.
With over 20 years in the fire protection and life safety industry, I have been fortunate to work in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and British Columbia. Saskatchewan is my home and the focus of Burns Fire Code Solutions.
I was a fire inspector for 11 years with Regina Fire and Protective Services. I am a current voting member of the Standing Committee on Fire Protection at the National level. This volunteer committee helps develop the requirements of the National Fire Code of Canada and the National Building Code of Canada. I have also sat on the boards of the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association and served as the Regional Director for the Canadian Association of Fire Investigators. I contribute articles to the Kilo Lima Code Community at KiloLimaCode.com. Several blog posts have been featured in the Canadian Fire Safety Association newsletter and Electrical Business Magazine.

Owner's Responsibilities
The fire code deems the owner, or the owner's agent to be responsible for compliance with the requirements of the Saskatchewan Fire Code. Not only is the owner responsible for complying with the code, but the owner is also responsible for ensuring that the individuals they hire are qualified.
